About us

We make local businesses VISible.

A digital marketing agency helping local and national businesses get found in search, the map pack and the AI answer engines customers now ask first. One standard runs through all of it: proof over promises.

In short

Who is VIS Mountain?

VIS Mountain Marketing and Advertising is a full service marketing agency working with local businesses and healthcare practices across the United States, from seven offices in Illinois, Texas, California and Florida.

It combines search optimization, generative and answer engine work, Google and Meta advertising, web design, branding, social media, reputation management and AI implementation into one program run by a single project manager. Clients own their website, domain, advertising accounts and data.

Who we are

A marketing partner that tells the truth.

We are built on a simple promise: disciplined work that follows published standards, honest reporting, and never over-promising a result we do not control.

Most of the frustration people bring to a first call with us is not really about rankings. It is about not knowing. Not knowing what was done last month, not knowing whether the number in the report means anything, not knowing who to ask, and not knowing what happens to the accounts if the relationship ends.

So the structure of how we work is designed around removing that specific frustration. One plan. One project manager who knows your account and can actually move it. One monthly report with one number at the top that you agreed to be judged on. Requests and approvals live in a shared hub instead of somebody's inbox, so you can see what is open and what shipped.

We work with established local businesses and healthcare practices. That is a deliberate narrowing. Regulated categories force a level of care about claims, consent and evidence that most marketing never has to think about, and once a team works that way it does not stop when the client is a roofer instead of a clinic. The rigor travels.

What we stand for

Three things we will not compromise.

These are not values on a wall. Each one costs us something in the sales process, which is how you know they are real.

Proof over promises

Every claim is backed by data or by a named result. We do not inflate a number, we do not guarantee an outcome, and when a month underperformed the report says so in the first paragraph.

  • No guaranteed rankings, lead volumes or timelines
  • Every statistic on this website names its publisher and year
  • Past results are described as past results, never as a forecast

Found everywhere

Search, maps and AI answer engines are three different surfaces with three different mechanics. We cover all three rather than doing one well and calling the rest an add on.

  • Organic results and the technical work underneath them
  • The map pack, the profile and the listings that feed it
  • The answers assistants give when somebody asks who is good nearby

Healthcare grade rigor

The precision that regulated, high trust marketing demands, applied to every client whether or not they are a clinic.

  • Claims checked against what can actually be evidenced
  • Accessibility built to WCAG 2.1 AA, not bolted on afterwards
  • Reviews collected first-party only, never manufactured or filtered
What we do

One system instead of five vendors.

We combine search optimization and generative engine work, paid advertising, web design and development, branding and creative, social media, reputation and CRM, and AI implementation into a single program. Each of those has a specialist who does only that, and a project manager sits over all of them so the channels are pulling in the same direction.

The reason to buy them together is not a discount. It is sequence. Ads pointed at a slow page waste money that content could have earned for free. Content written without the search term data from the ad account guesses at what people ask. Reviews that nobody asks for leave the map pack ranking flat while everything else improves. Run separately, each vendor optimises their own number and the business does not move.

Practically, a typical engagement starts by fixing measurement, because without it every later decision is an opinion. Then the fastest leak gets closed, which is usually either the website's conversion path or the Google Business Profile. Then the slower compounding work begins: content, authority, citations and the answer layer.

We are not the right choice for everyone, and we would rather say that on a call than six weeks in. Businesses that want the cheapest possible monthly fee, or a single channel handled in isolation with no interest in the rest, are better served elsewhere, and we will point you somewhere better if that is the honest answer.

Who does the work

The bench you get instead of one hire.

One salary buys one skill set. A marketing program needs seven, and the gap between them is where most in-house marketing quietly stalls.

The roles this work normally takesSix role chips arranged around a single centre: an SEO strategist, a content writer, a web developer, a paid media buyer, a designer and an analyst, all joined to one engagement.THE ROLES THIS WORK NORMALLY TAKESONE TEAMONE ENGAGEMENTSEO STRATEGISTCONTENT WRITERWEB DEVELOPERPAID MEDIA BUYERDESIGNERANALYSTAN ILLUSTRATIVE SPLIT OF ROLES, NOT A HEADCOUNT.
The seven disciplines on a marketing account, and the single project manager who is accountable for all of them.

CMO level strategy owns the plan and the numbers. A project manager is your single point of contact and runs the specialists behind them. Ads specialists build and manage Google and Meta campaigns and do nothing else. SEO specialists work search, maps and the answer engines. Social handles content and channels. Web developers own speed, design and the conversion work in house. An automation specialist wires up follow-up and routing so leads stop leaking between steps.

This is a description of how the work is staffed, not a claim about any specific hire you might be comparing us against. Your scope is set on the call, and the mix shifts depending on what your business actually needs. A practice with a strong site and no map pack presence gets a very different allocation from a contractor with great rankings and a website nobody can use on a phone.

You talk to the project manager. Not a queue, not a different account handler every quarter, and not whoever happens to pick up. If they cannot answer something in the moment they will tell you who can and when you will hear back.

Where the market is

This is not a futures pitch.

The CMO Survey, run by Duke's Fuqua School of Business with Deloitte and the American Marketing Association, surveyed 308 US marketing leaders in January 2026. Generative engine work has already stopped being experimental.

Those budget figures come from companies far larger than most of our clients, so treat them as a reference point rather than a rule. The useful signal is the first one: the answer layer is present tense work, and the businesses that wait are waiting while their category gets described by somebody else.

What the work is

One business, kept consistent everywhere it appears.

Most of what an agency does can be said in one picture. This is ours.

One brand, carried from your business to every social profile and listingYour business sits left of centre, drawn as a small storefront beside its brand tile: a logo, a name, three brand colours, a phone number and an address. A wide ring labelled VIS Mountain, the connective layer, surrounds it. From the ring, lines run out to two labelled families. On the left, socials: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, X and Pinterest. On the right, listings: Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yelp, Nextdoor, Foursquare, the Better Business Bureau and Tripadvisor. A small copy of the same brand tile travels out along each line in turn and clips onto that profile, where a tick marks it as carrying the brand. Every one of the fifteen profiles ends up showing the identical tile. A panel at the bottom right enlarges the tile and names the five things it holds: logo, name, colours, phone and address.

Your business in the middle with its brand details, and VIS Mountain working alongside each platform to carry that same set out to the social profiles and the listings a customer might meet first.
How an engagement runs

Four stages, in this order.

The order matters more than the list. Doing stage three before stage one is the single most common way marketing money gets wasted.

  1. Measurement first

Calls, forms and chats wired to the source that produced them, landing in one place. Until this exists, nobody can say which work paid for itself, and every later argument is a matter of taste.

    • Call and form tracking
    • Analytics and conversion definitions agreed with you
    • One place every enquiry lands
  2. Close the fastest leak

Usually the conversion path on the website or the Google Business Profile. These are the changes that move within weeks rather than quarters, and they fund the patience the next stage needs.

    • Profile completeness, categories and photos
    • Page speed and mobile usability
    • The form, the phone number and what happens after
  3. Build the compounding layer

Content, technical structure, citations, reviews and authority. This is the part that does not move in week two and then moves for years. We tell you what is being published and why before it goes live.

    • Topical content built around real questions
    • Consistent business facts everywhere they appear
    • A steady review rhythm rather than a one time push
  4. Report, decide, adjust

One monthly report, one working session at your cadence, and a decision at the end of it. Not a status meeting that exists to fill an hour.

    • One number at the top you agreed to
    • What changed, what is next, what we got wrong
    • Weekly or monthly sessions, your choice
In practice

What working with us actually looks like.

The unglamorous operational details that turn out to matter more than the strategy deck.

  • A project manager who owns your account and is the person you contact
  • Requests, approvals and questions in a shared hub, not buried in email
  • Working sessions weekly or monthly, at your cadence rather than ours
  • One consolidated monthly report covering every channel
  • You own the website, domain, Google Business Profile, ad accounts, analytics and data

  • Ad spend paid by you directly to the platforms, never through us
  • Channel transitions over 30 to 60 days, with nothing going dark
  • Scope and price agreed in writing before anything starts

In-person meetings run 8:00am to 6:00pm and every office is by appointment only, including the headquarters. We do not take walk-ins.

Built in house

We build the tools we use on your account.

These are VIS Mountain products, not resold software with our logo on it. They exist because we needed them, and they are available to clients on their own terms.

  • Branding Signal
  • Bird Local
  • Web Engine
  • Dash Funnels
  • Google Partner

What each of those actually is.

Bird Local handles local listings and Google Business Profile management: getting a business listed accurately everywhere it should be, and keeping one correct record in sync as details change. It is the unglamorous plumbing behind map pack visibility, and it is the work most often skipped.

Branding Signal tracks brand visibility across search and AI answers. It answers the question nobody could answer two years ago: when somebody asks an assistant about your category in your area, who gets named, and are you one of them. Being able to measure that is what separates generative engine work from guessing.

Read the full breakdown: What each of those actually is.2 more paragraphsHide the full breakdown: What each of those actually is.

Web Engine covers the website side, including the asset optimization that serves images at the size your device actually needs rather than shipping desktop files to a phone on a bad connection. Dash Funnels is the platform layer: customer records, booking, follow-up, forms and automations in one place, so an enquiry has somewhere to land.

We also carry the Google Partner badge, which is a Google programme with its own requirements rather than a logo anyone can paste on a footer. Where we run Facebook and Instagram campaigns we describe ourselves as a Meta ads agency, because that is accurate and the alternative phrasing would not be.

The difference, plainly

Proof over promises, in specifics.

Every row here is a decision we made deliberately, and each one is checkable rather than a matter of tone.

Straight about limits

What we will not tell you.

We will not promise a number one ranking. Google's own guidance on hiring an SEO says plainly that no one can guarantee it, and anybody offering one is either misinformed or counting on you not checking.

We will not promise instant results, a lead volume, or a revenue figure. Those depend on your market, your budget, your competitors, your pricing and how fast your team answers the phone. We can tell you what we are going to do, in what order, and what we expect to be able to show you at 30, 90 and 180 days.

Read the full breakdown: What we will not tell you.3 more paragraphsHide the full breakdown: What we will not tell you.

We will not publish a star rating or a review count as fixed text on a page. Those are live numbers that change, and a hardcoded one becomes false the moment it moves. Ratings on this site come from a live review widget or they do not appear.

We will not invent a case study, a client name, a team headcount or an award. Where a client outcome appears anywhere on this site, it is a real engagement described as precisely as the client has allowed, with identities kept private by default and the standard caveat attached that results vary.

And we will not take a client we do not think we can help. If the honest answer on the call is that your problem is pricing, or staffing, or that you need a receptionist more than you need ads, we will say so and point you somewhere better. It costs us a sale and saves you six months.

Questions

Straight answers.

How long has VIS Mountain been doing this?

The team brings 20+ years in the industry. That is experience in the work, not a claim about how long the company has been trading, and we would rather be precise about the difference than let a round number do the talking.

Who will actually be working on my account?

A project manager owns your account and is your single point of contact. Behind them sit specialists for strategy, Google and Meta advertising, search and answer engines, social, web development and automation.

You talk to the project manager rather than being routed through a queue or handed to a different account handler every few months.

Do you only work with healthcare practices?

No. Healthcare is the deepest specialism, including dental, med spa, urgent care, primary care, ophthalmology, dermatology, physical therapy and pediatrics. Alongside that we work with law firms, home services and skilled trades, e-commerce brands and professional and B2B firms.

The healthcare work shapes how we handle every account, because the standard of care about claims and evidence does not switch off for other industries.

Where are your offices and can I come in?

Seven offices: Oak Brook in Illinois as the headquarters, plus Elmhurst and Downers Grove in Illinois, Dallas in Texas, Tampa in Florida, and Beverly Hills and San Francisco in California.

Every one of them is by appointment only, including the headquarters, and none of them takes walk-ins. In-person meetings run 8:00am to 6:00pm. Book a time and we will confirm which office suits.

Do you guarantee results?

No, and you should treat any agency that does with caution. What we commit to is scope, cadence and honesty about what happened. Results depend on your market, budget and competition, and Google itself states that nobody can guarantee a number one ranking.

What happens to my accounts if I leave?

They stay with you, because they were always yours. The website, domain, Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Meta accounts, analytics and customer records are in your name. We transfer administrative access and hand over documentation rather than making you rebuild.

Why does this site show its sources?

Because marketing statistics are unusually unreliable. A large share of the numbers that circulate in this industry cannot be traced to any publisher at all, and several of the most quoted ones fall apart on the first check.

So every figure on this site names its publisher, its year and a link you can follow. If we could not verify a number, we left it out rather than repeating it.
