In short

Where is VIS Mountain's Oak Brook office and what does it cover?

VIS Mountain's headquarters is at 700 Commerce Drive, Suite 500, Oak Brook, IL 60523, at the junction of the Route 83 and 22nd Street corridor in DuPage County.

From here we run SEO and GEO, paid advertising, web design, branding, social media, reputation and CRM, and AI implementation for businesses across the western suburbs and the near-west side of Chicago.

The office is by appointment only, as every VIS Mountain office is. In-person meetings run 8:00am to 6:00pm central time, and support runs 24 hours virtually.

The ground

Where the office actually sits.

700 Commerce Drive is in Oak Brook's office district, in the band of commercial property that runs along 22nd Street and the Interstate 88 corridor in the northern part of the village. Most of Oak Brook is residential; this stretch is not.

Oakbrook Center, one of the largest outdoor shopping centres in the United States, sits a short distance away near the Route 83 and Interstate 88 interchange. Ace Hardware, Federal Signal, Inland Real Estate Group and Elkay Manufacturing are among the corporate headquarters based in the village, alongside a very large base of small and mid-sized companies.

The road access is the practical reason the office is here. Interstate 88, Interstate 294, Interstate 355 and Interstate 290 are all within reach, which puts most of DuPage County and a large part of west Cook County inside a short drive.

Oak Brook borders Oakbrook Terrace, Hinsdale, Westmont, Downers Grove, Villa Park and Elmhurst, and the village sits at roughly the centre of the trading area this office serves. That is why it is the headquarters rather than one of the satellites.

Who trades here

What the western suburbs actually trade in.

The service area this office covers is not one market. DuPage County alone contains corporate office corridors along Interstate 88 and Butterfield Road, dense independent retail in the near-west Cook suburbs, a very large industrial and distribution base in Addison and Carol Stream, and genuinely walkable downtowns in Hinsdale, La Grange, Downers Grove and Glen Ellyn.

Healthcare is one of the largest recurring categories we work in here. Hinsdale, La Grange, Elmhurst and Naperville all carry hospital campuses with dense clusters of independent medical and dental practices around them, and those practices compete with each other inside very small radii.

Read the full breakdown: What the western suburbs actually trade in.2 more paragraphsHide the full breakdown: What the western suburbs actually trade in.

Professional services concentrate around the county seat in Wheaton and along the office corridors, where the buying decision is driven by referral and reputation rather than by proximity. Trades and home services are the other constant: a large share of the businesses we work with across this area travel to their customers rather than receiving them.

East of the county line the picture changes again. Oak Park, Berwyn and Cicero are dense, walkable and heavily independent, with a large share of trade happening in Spanish, and the Chicago community areas beyond them are different again. We treat each of those as its own market because they are.

Named ground

The ground this office works across.

These are the corridors and districts that actually carry trade in the area served from Oak Brook. A page that does not name real ground is not a local page.

  • The 22nd Street and Butterfield Road office corridor through Oak Brook and Oakbrook Terrace
  • Route 83, the Kingery Highway, running north to south through the county
  • The Interstate 88 corridor west toward Naperville and Aurora
  • Ogden Avenue, US Route 34, running east to west through Hinsdale, Westmont and La Grange
  • The BNSF Metra line and the downtowns built around its stations
See the full checklist: The ground this office works across.3 more itemsHide the full checklist: The ground this office works across.
  • Roosevelt Road and North Avenue across the northern part of the county
  • The near-west Cook County belt: Oak Park, Berwyn, Cicero and Brookfield
  • The Eisenhower Expressway corridor east into Chicago's West Side and the West Loop

Oakbrook Center and the surrounding retail sit at the centre of that map, which is why the office is where it is.

Craft

How we build a page for a place like Oak Brook.

Location pages have a bad reputation because most of them are one page copied a hundred times. In DuPage County the borders are close enough together that a single searcher can be within map pack range of businesses in three municipalities at once. Here is the standard we hold ourselves to instead.

  1. Name real things

Corridors, districts, the roads people actually use, the kinds of business that genuinely operate there. If we cannot confirm a detail, we write around it rather than invent one.

  2. Answer the question the page exists for

Near the top, in plain sentences, so that a person skimming and an answer engine quoting get the same thing. No preamble and no marketing framing.

  3. Say who serves it and from where

A service area is not an address. We name the office the work runs from and never imply a presence that does not exist.

  4. Link it into the rest of the site

Up to the office it belongs to, across to neighbouring areas, and down to the services being described. A page with no inbound links is a page nobody finds.

Applied once, that is just care. Applied across every area a business serves, it is the difference between a site that ranks locally and a site that looks like it is trying to.

Search behaviour

How search behaves across this service area.

The single most useful thing to understand about local search here is that distance is measured from the person searching, not from the centre of a town. In a county with municipal borders every few miles, that means a business routinely appears in the map pack for one neighbouring village and disappears in another, and a single ranking figure for a whole town is an average of results nobody actually saw.

We measure by grid instead: a set of sample points across the trading area, showing where a business holds position, where it drops out and which direction the weakness runs. In the western suburbs that almost always reveals the problem to be directional rather than general, and it changes where the budget should go.

The other recurring finding is that record consistency is worse than anyone expects. Municipal boundaries here are complicated, several places share names, and a number of villages straddle county lines, so directory and aggregator data disagrees far more often than it does in a simple grid city. Correcting that at the source is unglamorous and it is frequently the highest-value first month of work.

Evidence

Reviews are read before anything else you publish.

BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey, based on 1,002 US adults, is vendor research with a stated method. These four rows drive most of what a review programme should do.

47%will not use a business with fewer than 20 reviews
74%prioritise reviews from the last three months

SourceBrightLocal, Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026

Recency is the part most Oak Brook businesses get wrong. A strong profile that stopped collecting reviews two years ago reads as a business that may not still be trading.

Process

A review process that survives a busy week.

Most review programmes die because they depend on someone remembering. The near-west Cook suburbs and the DuPage villages behave so differently that we plan them separately even when a client serves both. This is what we set up instead.

  1. Pick the moment, not the month

The ask goes out when the job is finished and the customer is still thinking about it, triggered by something that already happens in your system rather than by a person with a spare minute.

  2. Ask once, make it one tap

A single message with a direct link to the profile. Every extra step between the ask and the review loses a meaningful share of the people who intended to leave one.

  3. Reply to all of them

Including the good ones. BrightLocal's 2026 survey found 89% of consumers expect a response and half view generic, templated replies negatively, so the reply has to be written by someone who read the review.

  4. Handle the bad one properly

Respond calmly, correct the record, move the argument off the platform. Nothing published, nothing incentivised, nothing filtered before it is asked for.

That is deliberately boring. Review programmes that are interesting are usually the ones that get a profile suspended.

Visiting

What to expect if you come to the office.

Every office is by appointment only, including the headquarters. We do not take walk-ins. That is not a formality. It means there is a person expecting you and the right people are in the room rather than on a call somewhere else.

  • In-person meetings run 8:00am to 6:00pm local time, by appointment
  • Video and phone work equally well, and most first conversations happen that way
  • Support and service are available 24 hours virtually, across every time zone we work in
  • Bring the searches you care about, your Google Business Profile access if you have it, and your current numbers
  • We will not ask you to sign anything at a first meeting
  • Direct line for this office: (708) 669-9666

We deliberately do not publish a promised booking turnaround. The calendar shows real availability, and a written promise would go stale the week after we made it.

Scoping

How we decide what a business actually needs.

We do not have a package that everyone gets. This is the sequence we work through before quoting anything for a business in Oak Brook.

  1. Find out who your last fifty customers were and how they found you

If you cannot answer that, the first job is tracking rather than marketing. Everything after this step is a guess until that question has an answer.

  2. Work out whether your buyers search locally at all

A practice, a restaurant or a contractor is a local search business. A manufacturer, a distributor or a firm selling regionally often is not, and we will tell you that rather than selling a local programme into a market with no local demand.

  3. Look at what the competitive set has actually done

In some markets every competitor has a claimed profile, real reviews and a working site. In others half of them have none of those. The honest scope varies by several multiples between those two situations.

See the remaining steps: How we decide what a business actually needs.2 more stepsHide the remaining steps: How we decide what a business actually needs.
  1. Separate the one-off fixes from the ongoing work

Citation cleanup, a category correction and a tracking setup are jobs with an end. Reviews, content and monitoring are not. Quoting them as one number hides which is which.

  2. Say what we would not bother with

Every proposal we write includes the things we think are not worth doing for that business yet. It is the fastest way to tell whether a scope has been thought about.

That process sometimes ends with us quoting a small piece of work instead of a retainer. That is a legitimate outcome and it happens more often than you would expect.

Scope

Three levels of work, and what each one moves.

Not every business in Oak Brook needs the same scope. This is the honest version of what changes at each level, written so you can rule things out. Several places in this service area share names or straddle county lines, which makes record consistency a bigger problem here than in a simple grid city.

Questions

Straight answers.

Can I visit the Oak Brook office?

Yes, by appointment. The office is at 700 Commerce Drive, Suite 500, Oak Brook, IL 60523, and in-person meetings run 8:00am to 6:00pm central time.

Every VIS Mountain office is by appointment only and none of them take walk-ins, including this one. Support and service run 24 hours virtually.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

The booking calendar shows the slots that are genuinely open, which is a more honest answer than anything we could write on a page.

We deliberately do not publish a promised turnaround, because a written promise would go stale the week after we made it.

Is Oak Brook the headquarters?

Yes. VIS Mountain has seven offices and this is the head office. The others are in Elmhurst, Downers Grove, Dallas, Tampa, Beverly Hills and San Francisco.

Every one of them has a real street address, which is listed on its own page, and every one of them is by appointment only.

Do you only work with businesses in Oak Brook?

No. This office serves DuPage County and the near-west Cook County suburbs, and we work with clients across the country remotely.

The areas listed on this page each have their own page with genuine local detail, because a service area is only worth claiming if you can say something true about it.

Which services can I buy on their own?

All of them. SEO and GEO, paid advertising, web design and development, branding and creative, social media management, reputation and CRM, and AI implementation are each sold separately.

Most clients start with one and add a second once the first is producing. We will tell you if the honest answer is a small one-off fix rather than a retainer.

How do you report on results?

On enquiries rather than impressions. Calls separated by source, forms tied to the page that produced them, chat conversations counted, spam excluded, and a definition of a qualified enquiry that you agree with before reporting starts.

Results vary by market, budget and competition, and we will say where we are uncertain rather than presenting a guess as a forecast.

Do you publish your Google rating on this page?

No. Ratings and review counts are live values that change, so hardcoding one into a page means shipping a number that will eventually be wrong.

Where a rating appears on this site it comes from a review widget reading live data, and we do not publish review or rating structured data at all.

What happens on a first call?

We look at your Google Business Profile, your records across the major directories, your grid ranking position across the areas you serve, your site on a phone, whether your calls and forms are tracked, and what AI assistants currently say about your category locally.

You get those findings whether or not you work with us, and there is nothing to sign at a first meeting.
