This page lists every cookie and tracking technology this site uses, who runs it, and what it does. It also explains how to change your mind at any time, and what changing your mind can and cannot undo.
What cookies does vismountain.com use?
vismountain.com loads seven services in three categories. The necessary category is the scheduling and form platform at go.vismountain.com, Web Engine asset delivery, Trustindex reviews, and the brand visibility scan at intelligence.vismountain.com, which is our own service and loads only after you press the button to start a scan. The analytics category is Google Analytics 4 and the Knock Knock chat window, which is here rather than in necessary because it records the session and what is typed into forms as well as running the chat. The marketing category is Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta Pixel. Google's tags are delivered through Google Tag Manager, which is a loader rather than a service of its own: it arrives from the same Google domain, only after you accept analytics or marketing, and it carries no tags beyond the ones listed here. The table below is the full list and it is the same list the preferences control uses.
Analytics and marketing can be switched off at any time through the cookie preferences control on the site, and VIS Mountain treats an opt out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control as a request to opt out. Declining them changes nothing you can read or do here.
How this page works
This policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy. The privacy notice covers everything we do with personal information. This page covers the narrower question of what gets stored in your browser, and what loads from someone else's server while you read a page.
The table below is the complete inventory of third party services running on this site, not a representative sample. If we add one, this page and the privacy policy change on the same day, and the date at the top of both pages moves with them.
Six services, three categories, and two of those categories are yours to switch off. That is the whole picture. The rest of this page explains what each one actually does, what happens when you decline it, and the one thing declining cannot undo.
Every cookie and tag this site uses
Three categories. Necessary services run so the site can function. Analytics and marketing run only where you have allowed them.

Alongside those services, this site stores two things of its own on your device: the cookie choice you make, so we do not ask again on every page, and any accessibility settings you turn on, such as reduced motion or larger text. Both are first party, both stay on your device, and neither is shared with anyone. We do not run a LinkedIn advertising tag or a TikTok advertising tag on this site. We link to our profiles there, and a link is not a tracker.
What each category does, and what happens if you decline
Necessary. These make the site work as a website. The scheduling platform at go.vismountain.com renders the booking calendar and receives what you type into the contact and audit forms. Web Engine, our own sub-brand, serves images at a size that suits your screen. These are not switchable, because switching them off would mean the forms did not submit and the images did not load. If you would rather not use any of them, you can still read every page, and you can reach us by phone or email instead. The chat window is not in this category: it also records the session, so it sits under measurement and stays off until you say yes.
Analytics. Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages are read, how people arrived, and which pages are ignored. We look at it in aggregate to decide what to write next and what to fix. If you decline analytics, the site behaves in exactly the same way for you. The only difference is that your visit is not counted in our numbers.

Marketing. Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta Pixel connect an advertisement click to what happened afterwards, so we can tell which campaigns produce real enquiries and stop paying for the ones that do not. They also let us show our own ads again to people who have already visited this site. One visible effect of this: if you arrive here by clicking one of our Google ads and have accepted marketing, the phone number shown on the page may be replaced with a Google forwarding number that rings the same phones, so that a call can be matched to the advertisement that produced it. If you decline marketing, none of that happens for you, and you see our ordinary number. You will still see advertising elsewhere on the internet, because we are not the only advertiser in the world, but it will not be ours targeted on the basis of this visit.
Declining a category has no effect on what we charge, what we offer you, or how quickly we reply. Our privacy policy commits to that in writing, and it is the law in California in any case.
How to change your choice at any time
Open the cookie preferences control on this site, change the categories you want, and save. The change takes effect immediately and applies from that moment onward. There is no waiting period and you do not need to contact us. If you cannot find the control, email hello@vismountain.com and we will make the change for you and tell you when it is done.
You can also send an opt out preference signal from your browser. Global Privacy Control is the widely supported one, available as a setting in some browsers and as an extension in others. Where your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser, and we do not ask you to confirm it a second time.
One thing to know about both routes: they are tied to the browser and the device you are using. A choice made in one browser does not travel to another browser, to a different computer, or to your phone. If you use several, set it in each.
Controls in your browser
Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has stored, delete them, block third party cookies, or block cookies from a specific site. Look for privacy, security, or site settings in your browser's preferences. Blocking cookies across the board will affect other websites too, and on many sites it will break logins and shopping baskets, so per site controls are usually the better tool.
Google publishes a browser add on that opts you out of Google Analytics measurement on every site that uses it, which is a useful blanket option if analytics is your concern rather than this site specifically. It is linked at the foot of this page.

Private or incognito windows are worth understanding properly. They stop cookies and history persisting on your device after you close the window, which is useful if you share a computer. They do not hide your visit from the websites you load or from the third parties whose code those sites run.
One practical side effect: clearing your cookies for this site also clears the record of the choice you made here. When that happens, the site will ask you again, because the only place your preference was stored was the file you just deleted.
What withdrawing consent cannot undo
This is the part most cookie policies leave out, so we will be direct about it.
Once a vendor's script has loaded during a session, that vendor has already received the request. Turning the category off afterwards stops any further collection from that point forward, and it stops the script loading on your next visit. It cannot reach into Google's or Meta's systems and erase what they received in the minutes before you changed your mind. No website's cookie banner can do that, whatever the wording implies.

If you want that earlier data removed as well, tell us. Email hello@vismountain.com with "Cookie deletion request" in the subject line and roughly when you visited. We will make the deletion request we are able to make to the platforms involved and tell you what we asked for and what came back. We will not pretend to a power we do not have, and we will not go quiet on you either.
The same logic applies to an opt out preference signal. It is forward looking. It protects the visits after it is switched on, which is a good reason to switch it on before you need it rather than after.
Common questions about cookies here
Will the site still work if I decline everything I can decline?
Yes. Analytics and marketing are the only switchable categories, and neither has any effect on what you can read or do here. Every page, form, and phone number works the same way. The only thing that changes is that we lose the measurement.
Do you use cookies to identify me personally?
No. The tags on this site recognise a browser, not a person. They do not know your name, and we do not upload names, email addresses, or phone numbers into Google Analytics. What turns a recognised browser into a known person is you filling in a form and telling us who you are, which is covered by our privacy policy.
Why can I not switch off the necessary cookies?
Because they are not measurement, they are the site. The scheduling platform is what receives your form, and Web Engine is what delivers the images. Switching them off would not give you a more private version of the site, it would give you a broken one. If you would rather avoid them entirely, read the pages and call or email us instead. The chat window used to sit here and no longer does, because it records the session as well as the conversation, which makes it measurement and makes it switchable.
Do you honour Global Privacy Control?
Yes. Where your browser or an extension sends an opt out preference signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for that browser, and we do not ask you to confirm it again. It applies per browser and per device, and it applies going forward rather than retroactively.
Does this site have a LinkedIn or TikTok pixel?
No. We link to our profiles on both platforms, and a link is not a tracker: following one takes you to that platform, where its own policy applies. The only advertising tags on this site are Google Ads conversion tracking and the Meta Pixel, both listed in the table above.
How do I ask you to delete data a tag already collected?
Email hello@vismountain.com with "Cookie deletion request" in the subject line and tell us roughly when you visited. We will make the deletion request we are able to make to the platforms involved, and we will tell you what we asked for and what they said. Turning a category off stops collection going forward but cannot erase what a vendor already received.
